Our priority for this project was to create a refined, modern space that would require minimal maintenance for years to come. Jumbo-sized, muted slabs comprise most of the outdoor area, banded with darker, smaller units that define the expansive backyard into distinct zones. This hardscaping design is best appreciated from the second-floor balcony, where you can see the unique patio spearhead pattern transition to the swimming pool space.

Because of the walkout basement in the back, the existing grading was steep. To resolve the challenges posed by the slope, we installed a stairway of large, single-unit stone steps and lined both sides with a band of river stone. This not only enhances the overall aesthetic, but also effectively protects against erosion.
